her future. good morning, thanks for joining us for "news 4 today." i'm eun yang. >> i'm joe krebs. today i trsday. it is the 16th day of sepmber 2010. let's take a live look outside this morning. we have some clouds above us right now. nice day at 66 degrees. going to get warm, too. here's tom. >> a southerly breeze will increase this afternoon, that will sweep in some warmth and get us into the mid 80s probably by midternoon. then a front moves in fromhe midwest and looks like it may trigger some showers in the mountains by midafternoon. shenandoah valley by perhaps late afternoon, and here inthe metro area after sunset. so thankfully much-needed rain coming our way. let's look at temperatures now. it's off to a pleasant start on this thursday morning. we're in the low 60s in the suburbs and rural areas. upper 60s in washington. and right near the water, only in the 50s though in western maryland and much of west virginia, eastern shore mid 60s. and right at the beach, it's near 70. and if a few of those showers moving in, where you see passing showers in ohio, kentucky, and sout

. high pressure over the region giving us plenty of sunshine today and a southerly breeze should warm us into the upper 80s by mid afternoon. not very humid. tomorrow, partly cloudy, midday clouds might produce a passing shower and blustery afternoon wind and cooler weather thursday and friday as the sun returns. ashley, how's the tuesday traffic now? >> i come bearing good news out of virginia. the beltway is wide open heading up towards 50 and 66. along 95, you do have company as you make your way leaving the prince william parkway towards route 1 seems to be the worse of it. this is the pace and the headlights may throw you off, they are at the posted speed limit there's a lot of drivers there. 270 southbound is starting to stack up, not terrible but definitely slow from 109 to the truck scales and after that, no problems. around the beltway, we are rolling problem free right now at the posted speed limit. no big problems there, you are flying, of course at the speed limit. craig and eun, back to you. >> ashley, thank you. be prepared for pay messy commute as nearly everyone heads bac

. that's according to a ruling by federal judge in california. the u.s. district judge made the ruling last night and says she will issue an injunction halting the don't ask don't tell policy. the judge said the policy does not help military readiness but has a harmful effect on the armed services. government lawyers say the judge lacks the authority to issue a nationwide injunction and the issue should be decided by congress. >>> the world is watching and waiting this morning to see the small church in florida goes forward with plans to build the koran tomorrow. yesterday the leader of that church, the reverend terry jones first said he would cancel the event. he made the announcement after thinking developers had agreed to move the site of a propose the mosque and kul tural center from ground zero in new york. a imam close to the project says moving the site and not a done deal. after hearing that, reverend jones said he may still go through with the koran burning. >> now we're a little bit, not totally, a little bit back to square one. we're prayerfully considering what we would do.
